Factors such as age, ethnicity, medications, and hormone levels influence body hair appearance. These factors affect the length, coarseness, and color of our body hair. Laser technology offers a permanent and safe solution to eliminating unwanted or excessive hair.

We use the most advanced laser system from Lumenis™ (Lightsheer Diode Laser System™) for hair removal. It is FDA approved for permanent hair reduction. Over the past eight years - virtually since the beginning of cosmetic laser hair removal - we have worked with different types of lasers. The Lumenis LightSheer Diode offers the best technology and is more effective in removing unwanted hair than is an IPL (light-based device), and we have successfully treated more than 4000 patients. Its pulse width (400 milliseconds) and intensity (up to 100J), make it possible to treat darker skinned and tanned clients, as well as permanently eliminate ingrown hairs in all skin types.

Essentially Bare also offers electrolysis to complement laser hair removal treatment as well as treat hair not suited for laser hair removal. We provide electrolysis through our Cambridge office as well as satellite locations.  Electrolysis can be used effectively for unwanted hair that does not react to laser. Common areas include fair hair on chin or moustache, as well as tidying up stragglers
post-laser treatment. Electrolysis is also great for challenging grooming areas for men such as eyebrows, cheekbones, ears and nose.
