Cosmetic medical center gets under your skin
Kelly Cirafice has not shaved her legs in five years.
That is because she underwent laser hair removal and
now puts the time she saves in the shower every morning to better
use.
As director of the Essentially Bare Cosmetic and Laser
Clinic, Cirafice of Hingham, is an advocate for laser hair removal.
She is also proof the procedure works. “I recommend any mother
get their legs and underarms done. You don’t realize what
a luxury it is until you don’t have to do it [shave] anymore,”
Cirafice says.
Cirafice recently opened a second location in the new
health and wellness center at the Weymouth Club. Now you can work
out your body, fight the signs of aging, remove unwanted hair and
treat spider veins all under the same roof. “It’s a
nice fit for us to be here at the Weymouth Club. It’s one-stop
shopping,” Cirafice says. Cirafice has had a location in Cambridge
since 2000.
Essentially Bare is a medically based clinic with a
dermatologist, Dr. Shala Asvadi, on staff to administer treatments
like medical grade chemical peels and filler injections. Cirafice’s
speciality is the laser treatments. The clinic specializes in skin
checks, rosacea, spider veins, acne, age and sun spot removal, hair
removal, photorejuvenation, microdermabrasion, Botox, Restylane.
Cirafice stresses Essentially Bare is not your typical
day spa. If you want “glow” and “dewy” Cirafice
points clients toward the spa. “Spas are great for maintenance
and keeping skin healthy,” she says. “Essentially Bare
is more results-oriented. The treatments we do are not relaxing.”
Some treatments are uncomfortable - but tolerable.
Laser treatments, for example, feel like getting a tattoo - however,
no needles are used. Cirafice says clients may not exactly “enjoy”
their treatments, but “they love us after eight weeks.”
